Job description
As a Junior IT Support Technician, you’ll support business clients with their day-to-day IT needs, helping them resolve issues quickly, professionally and with a friendly approach.
You’ll work directly with clients, so this is a great role for someone who enjoys solving problems and building relationships, not just working through tickets.
You’ll be involved in:
- Providing 1st line IT support to business clients
- Setting up laptops, desktops, peripherals and user accounts
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and email
- Helping with remote monitoring, patching and system updates
- Supporting phone systems, with full training provided
- Assisting with endpoint protection, MFA and basic security
- Troubleshooting WiFi, connectivity and basic networking issues
- Maintaining asset registers and client documentation
- Liaising with suppliers and third-party providers
- Supporting software testing and QA when required, This is not a narrow, repetitive support role. You’ll join a growing team where you can build your skills, work closely with clients and help shape the IT support function as it develops.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN?, You don’t need years of experience. What matters most is that you’re technically curious, good with people, and keen to learn., * A genuine interest in IT support and technology
- A basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365 and common business software
- Good communication skills and confidence speaking with clients
- A logical, methodical approach to problem solving
- Strong attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to manage tasks across multiple clients
Previous IT support experience would be helpful, but this could be commercial, voluntary, educational or from helping friends, family or small businesses with their tech.
Experience with any of the following would be a bonus:
- Microsoft 365 admin
- RMM tools
- Endpoint protection or antivirus software
- DNS, DHCP, VPNs or WiFi troubleshooting
- Hardware setup or imaging
- Ticketing or documentation systems
- Software testing, QA or coding
