Job description

Ennoble First is seeking a UI/UX Engineer to support the development of mission-critical applications for an Intelligence Community customer. In this role, you will design and develop intuitive, user-centered interfaces that transform complex workflows into seamless user experiences. Working within an Agile development environment, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, product owners, and mission users to deliver responsive, accessible, and high-performing applications that directly support national security missions.

The ideal candidate combines strong front-end development skills with a passion for user experience design and has experience building modern web applications that balance functionality, usability, and performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces for mission-critical web applications.
  • Translate complex operational and technical workflows into efficient, user-centered experiences.
  • Build and maintain front-end components using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar technologies.
  • Collaborate with users, stakeholders, and development teams to gather requirements and improve application usability.
  • Ensure applications meet usability standards, accessibility requirements, and responsive design best practices.
  • Develop and maintain reusable design patterns, UI components, and style guides to promote consistency across applications.
  • Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Optimize front-end performance, scalability, and responsiveness across environments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and peer reviews.
  • Work closely with backend engineers, product owners, and system stakeholders to align user experience with mission requirements.
  • Incorporate user feedback and usability findings to continuously improve application functionality and design.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to successfully complete a polygraph examination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, or related field and 4-8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and 2-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience developing applications using modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing user-centered interfaces for complex web-based applications.
  • Understanding of UX principles, usability, accessibility, and interaction design methodologies.
  • Experience working in Linux-based environments.
  • Ability to translate user needs and mission requirements into functional design solutions.
  • Experience collaborating within Agile software development teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills., * Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Experience designing and developing user interfaces for data-driven GEOINT or intelligence applications.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Grafana or similar platforms.
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs and backend services.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern software deployment practices.
  • Experience supporting mission-focused applications within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense environments.

Pay Range

$110,000-$145,000

The Ennoble First pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
