Job description

Join our dynamic team at AS&T as a Software Engineer - Level 5 and play a critical role in advancing the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Space Data Integrator (SDI) project. SDI is an innovative operational prototype designed to enhance the integration of launch and reentry vehicles into the National Airspace System (NAS). Your work will directly impact the processing, displaying, and distribution of vehicle position data, contributing to improved situational awareness and efficient airspace management., * Participate actively in Agile development practices, contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate closely with a team of skilled professionals to design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality code by performing code reviews and adhering to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues to maintain system reliability and performance.
  • Engage in continuous learning and apply new technologies to improve system functionality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Java, NodeJS, JavaScript, and Web Development technologies.

Desired Skills / Experience:

  • Experience with Ansible, Bitbucket, Docker, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Background/Security Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass an Enhanced Background Investigation (SF-85).

Ability to Work Remotely:

  • The primary location is WJHTC
