Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities

Our team leverages industry standard open-source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher. Our automation-first and ā€œeverything as codeā€ mindset allows our software engineers to focus their time and efforts on what is most important - building cutting edge functionality for our end users.

As an engineer on an Agile Scrum Team, you will have the opportunity to rapidly develop and deploy solutions for a complex space system following core engineering principles, ultimately enabling the delivery of fully functioning mission capability to end users securely and continuously., Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Requirements

Recent experience in software development using JavaScript, Node.js, and Java for full-stack development Recent JavaScript library experience with web-based components (e.g., Lit, React, Angular) Experience with Git/Gitlab/Git Bash for software version control Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools Experience with application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift) Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as Jira and Confluence Familiarity with software test best practices, including unit test, integration test, and end-to-end test ship Required: No clearance required to start but must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

Desired skills

Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, computer engineering, other engineering discipline, or equivalent experience Experience with API design and development, such as RESTful APIs Knowledge of database management systems, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL Experience with microservices and microservice architecture Experience with SpringBoot or Quarkus for backend Java development Experience with LIT for JS front-end Experience with HTML/CSS Experience with Helm charts for infrastructure as code (IaC) Familiarity with the Space Domain Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment Experience in running unit tests with Playwright and/or integration testing with Cucumber Experience working on large-scale software projects with multiple teams and stakeholders

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible., Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $107,300 - $185,840.
