Job description

The Senior Platform Engineer serves as a key technical contributor on the newly established DFS Platform Services team. This role is responsible for significant portions of the platform build, including CI/CD pipelines, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) infrastructure, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) operations, and the observability stack. The engineer works under the standards set by the Lead Platform Engineer and provides day-to-day mentorship to mid-level engineers.

Requirements

Skill Level: Senior (60-84 months experience); must be able to work independently and provide guidance to others.
Core Experience: 84 months in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure, including production CI/CD pipeline design.
Google Cloud Platform Proficiency: 60 months of experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Build, VPC, and IAM).
Infrastructure as Code: 60 months of experience with Terraform, including module development and remote state management.

Requested Technical Skills

Git Workflows: 60 months of experience with GitHub, branching strategies, and webhook integrations.
Security Analysis: 48 months of experience with static (SAST) and dynamic (DAST) code analysis using tools like SonarQube and OWASP ZAP.
Observability: 48 months of experience with Splunk for log forwarding and dashboarding.
Salesforce DevOps: 24 months of experience maintaining Salesforce pipelines using GearSet or equivalent.
Mentorship: 24 months of experience providing technical mentorship to engineers.
Education & Certification: Bachelor’’s Degree; preferred certifications include Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate, or CKA/CKAD.
