Matillion Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer to manage, support, and enhance Matillion ETL platform in a secure, cloud-based environment. The role involves infrastructure setup, CI/CD automation, and platform administration in an air-gapped architecture integrated with Snowflake.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage Matillion on Amazon Web Services (EC2 instances, VPC, EBS, security groups)
• Configure and maintain air-gapped Matillion environments with restricted outbound access
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
• Administer and support the Matillion platform across Dev, QA, and Prod environments
• Develop Bash/Python scripts for monitoring, automation, and operational tasks
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub) for Matillion deployments
• Integrate Git version control with Matillion for code management and releases
• Manage secure credentials using Vault/CI-CD variables and implement key-based authentication for Snowflake
• Monitor platform using tools like CloudWatch/Dynatrace/Splunk and handle alerts
• Troubleshoot job failures, orphaned sessions, and performance issues

• Strong experience with Matillion ETL (Administration & Development)
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, EBS)
• Experience with air-gapped deployments
• Proficiency in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Strong scripting skills (Bash and/or Python)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub)
• Strong knowledge of Git version control
• Experience integrating Matillion with Snowflake
• Knowledge of secrets management (HashiCorp Vault or similar)
• Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk)
