Job description

Design, integrate, and validate critical communication systems between the various subsystems onboard UAVs and eVTOLs, ensuring their interoperability, reliability, and compliance with international aeronautical standards.

Your work will be key to guaranteeing that Embention’s autopilots and avionics systems communicate and integrate accurately and safely with the rest of the components in our clients’ platforms. What would be your responsibilities?

  • Design communication and system architectures for UAVs and eVTOLs, integrating Embention products with sensors, actuators, datalinks, and Ground Control Stations.
  • Capture, define, and verify system requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance with project and certification standards.
  • Define and validate communication interfaces and protocols (CAN bus, RS-232, Ethernet, MAVLink, etc.) and transmission frequencies (C-Band, S-Band, radios, etc.).
  • Develop functional and electrical diagrams (wiring diagrams) and manage final integration on the platform.
  • Select and size components according to customer requirements and architectural needs.
  • Ensure redundancy, independence, and fault tolerance within critical communication systems.
  • Participate in system verification, validation, and documentation in accordance with aeronautical standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754B, ARP4761).
  • Collaborate directly with clients to define and propose tailored technical solutions.

Requirements

A leading UAV technology firm in Spain, Comunidad Valenciana, Alicante, seeks an experienced engineer to design and validate critical communication systems for UAVs and eVTOLs. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, knowledge of aeronautical standards, and experience with communication protocols. About the company

C/C++ programming Isograph Descripción del empleo #Join us in enabling drones to populate our skies

At Embention, we have been driven since 2007 by a clear mission: Enabling drones to populate our skies.

We provide more than 700 customers in 70 countries including internationally renowned companies such as Toyota, Amazon Prime Air, and Honda with Veronte autopilots, critical avionics, and software for their professional drones and eVTOLs. All our systems are developed in accordance with DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-160 standards, making us the only company in the sector certified by AESA and EASA as both a POA and APDOA.

The core of our company lies in our R&D team, made up of over 100 multidisciplinary engineers. Together with the rest of the organization, we are a team of 180 professionals united by a single goal: to innovate and push the boundaries of UAV technology.

Following a record-breaking 2025 marked by strong stock market performance, the launch of industrial production in the United Arab Emirates, and the establishment of a subsidiary in the United States, we are looking to continue expanding our team and driving continuous R&D development.

If you are passionate about our mission and want to be part of this journey, we are looking for you. What would be your mission?
