Job description

Join a technology team supporting application development within a financial services environment. This team partners closely with business stakeholders to build, maintain, and improve applications that support critical business workflows, process automation, reporting, and operational efficiency. The environment is collaborative, delivery-focused, and well-suited for a developer who can balance hands-on engineering with business requirement translation, documentation, testing support, and production-quality troubleshooting.

What’s In Store For You:

Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Charlotte, North Carolina, supporting enterprise application development across Appian, BPM, and full stack technologies. The role offers exposure to business-facing technology delivery, application modernization, workflow automation, database development, API design, and DevOps-aligned practices within an investment banking technology group.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Design, build, enhance, and maintain business applications across UI, workflow, database, and integration layers.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver scalable application solutions.
  • Develop and support applications using Appian, BPM tools, or full stack web development technologies.
  • Build front-end components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Develop and optimize database logic using SQL Server or other relational database platforms.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations to connect applications with internal systems.
  • Support QA testing, troubleshoot exceptions, debug production issues, and implement application fixes.
  • Maintain clear documentation for code, processes, systems, and application support activities.
  • Help ensure applications meet security, compliance, and data protection expectations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Appian development, BPM development, or full stack application development.
  • Strong front-end development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server or another relational database platform.
  • Ability to write, simplify, and tune SQL queries for performance and maintainability.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to support multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a delivery-focused environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and strong work ethic.
  • Preferred experience with Appian SAIL, Records, Integrations, and WebAPIs.
  • Preferred experience with Flask, Python, Kubernetes, or investment banking technology environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
