Job description

This is primarily an office-based role in Clacton-on-Sea, providing remote technical support to installation engineers, with occasional site visits required to assist with installations, fault finding, servicing, and system commissioning.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong heating and plumbing knowledge who enjoys problem-solving and supporting engineers in the field., * Provide technical support to engineers during ASHP installations via phone, video call, and email

  • Assist installers with commissioning and setup of ASHP systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults relating to performance, efficiency, controls, and system operation
  • Support engineers with repairs, servicing, and maintenance requirements
  • Attend customer sites when required to assist with complex installations or technical issues
  • Review system designs, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications
  • Ensure installations comply with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical queries and warranty issues
  • Record technical findings and maintain accurate service documentation
  • Support continuous improvement of installation and technical processes
  • Deliver a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with Air Source Heat Pumps, heating systems, or renewable technologies
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good understanding of plumbing and heating systems
  • Experience supporting engineers or working in a technical support environment is desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Competent using Microsoft Office and technical software systems
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Knowledge of UK industry standards and regulations (e.g. MCS, Building Regulations)
  • Requirements - Essential
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent
  • Unvented Hot Water qualification
  • G3 Water Regs

Desirable

  • Level 3 ASHP Installation and Maintenance
  • F-Gas qualification
  • Low Temperature Hot Water Heating System
  • Manufacturer training/certifications in heat pump systems
  • Experience with fault diagnostics on renewable heating systems
