Job description

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to provide direct, on-site support for the Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) department. This role focuses on maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting test stations, test equipment, and supporting infrastructure to ensure high availability and minimal disruption to engineering and production test activities. The specialist will serve as the primary SI&T contact for test-station-related IT needs, reducing reliance on central IT and improving responsiveness to critical test operations., * Maintain and troubleshoot SI&T test stations relating to IT issues to ensure maximum up time for production and engineering schedules.

  • Install and configure hardware on PCs, including NIC cards, serial port cards, 1553 cards, and various JTAG/programming pods.
  • Install, configure, and maintain test station assets such as PXI chassis, PXI cards, and supporting hardware.
  • Load and maintain hardware drivers, package managers, and required support software.
  • Resolve user permission issues involving accounts, hardware access, and file system privileges.
  • Perform locked account recovery and support access restoration.
  • Install and configure engineering test applications (LabVIEW, Corelis, Xilinx toolsets, JTAG tools, etc.).
  • Configure VLAN switches, network connections, and IP/GPIB addressing for test equipment control.
  • Perform Test Station System Restores, including creating and loading system restore points.
  • Support OS image deployments and updates, including Windows 10/11 image creation, updates, and PL1 network migrations.
  • Maintain the SI&T central repository for test software releases (BitBucket).
  • Track software licenses, renewals, and asset status (LabVIEW, Corelis, Xilinx, NI, etc.).
  • Provide support for Linux and Windows server and client environments where applicable.
  • Ensure network connectivity for test-related devices and systems.
  • Support data backup and restore processes for test systems and engineering data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field with 4+ years of IT/System Administration experience; OR
  • Graduate degree in a related field with 2+ years of experience; OR
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of System Administration or IT support experience in a technical environment.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.
  • Experience with BitBucket or similar version control systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or batch).
  • Experience configuring VLAN switches and addressing for lab/test environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • 2 years of experience supporting lab IT, development, test, or staging environments, including system setup, maintenance, and user support.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with hardware installation, system configuration, infrastructure integration, and troubleshooting of IT and network-connected equipment
  • 2 years of experience with networking fundamentals, subnets, and VLAN configuration.
  • Experience with Windows administration (client and server).
  • Experience with Linux administration (basic or intermediate level).
  • Experience with automated test equipment, lab instrumentation, or engineering test environments.
  • Experience installing and supporting specialized engineering tools (LabVIEW, Corelis, Xilinx, JTAG utilities, etc.).
  • Ability to work in controlled or classified network environments (PL1, etc.).
  • Active US DOD SECRET security clearance
  • If none, must be able to attain clearance

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is [$76,500 - $141,500]. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
