Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Application Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications.

Working closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business and customer requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to play a big part in our transformation plans., * Design, develop, test and implement backend services and integrations using Python and modern frameworks.

  • Build and maintain frontend applications using PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like Angular or Vue.
  • Lead development projects through the entire lifecycle and mentor junior engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical development issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical development documentation, including user guides, system documentation, and design specifications.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality, performance and adherence to coding standards.
  • Work closely with other engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and contribute to the design and development process.
  • Suggest and implement improvements & best practices to the development process, ensuring efficiency and quality in application delivery.
  • Working closely with the wider Technology team to align system direction and deliver improvements.
  • Helping shape technical decisions and taking part in solution design discussions.

Requirements

A developer with a proven track record in supporting successful development projects, involved in the full development lifecycle from analysis to development.

  • 5+ years in software development or application development.
  • Strong skills in at least one programming language - Javascript, Python, PHP.
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a bonus.
  • Experience with Wordpress and WooCommerce would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Devops etc.) and version control.
  • Experience of Cloud infrastructures Azure or AWS.
  • Working experience of API and REST API integrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate development risks effectively.
  • Experience of development and integration of SAAS applications, Hubspot beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of geopandas, numpy, node or SQL is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with GIT and Docker processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving skills and leadership abilities.

Location: Candidates must be currently resident in the UK and with either UK citizenship or indefinite leave to remain.

Be able to work effectively in a remote/hybrid working environment with minimal day-to-day supervision.
