Job description

  • Performance Framework Ownership –Define and maintain a comprehensive performance engineering framework. –Establish SLAs/SLOs and performance benchmarks

  • Performance Testing & Engineering –Design, execute, and analyze load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests. –Identify performance bottlenecks across infrastructure layers.

  • Infrastructure, OS, and Database Optimization –Tune compute resources and optimize databases.

  • Capacity Planning & Scalability Modeling –Build and maintain capacity models.

  • Bottleneck Analysis: Diagnosing CPU, Memory, I/O, Network issues.
  • Shift-Left Performance Integration –Embed performance validation into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Leadership, Mentoring & Collaboration –Mentor junior engineers and guide architecture discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years direct performance engineering experience.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, BlazeMeter.
  • Experience with APM & Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, NewRelic, AppDynamics, Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, DataDog).
  • Experience with scripting & languages: Java, Python, C#, .NET, Perl, JavaScript, SQL.
  • Experience working with HTTP, WebSockets, TCP/IP.
  • System Internals Experience with JVM/CLR internals (GC, Threading), OS tuning (Linux), Database performance tuning (MSSQL, Oracle Enterprise Server).
  • Infrastructure experience with On-Premise (VMware, Physical Servers), Enterprise Middleware (Kafka, Messaging Queues), Windows Server.
  • Experience with databases: Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB (tuning, query optimization).
  • Experience with legacy system performance., * System Thinking: Understanding complex software/hardware interactions.
  • Collaboration: Working with Devs, Ops, Architects, PMs.
  • Communication: Explaining complex issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentorship: Guiding junior engineers.
  • Ownership: Taking responsibility for performance outcomes.
  • Proactive Mindset: Preventing issues before they happen.
