Alexander Glätzle builds quantum systems. At planqc, he is developing Germany’s first quantum computer based on neutral atoms, aiming to turn theoretical physics into practical hardware.
Before starting his company, he researched ultracold atoms at Oxford and the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore. He frequently speaks on how to prepare for the reality of scalable quantum technology while dodging industry hype.
His push to build a 1,000-qubit machine for the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre recently earned him the German Startup Award for Newcomer of the Year.
