André Dietrich builds programming tools and researches educational software at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Originally a robotics developer, he found traditional learning management systems too rigid. This led him to create LiaScript, a markdown language that turns static text into interactive learning materials.

He advocates for pushing code execution and collaboration directly into the browser. Instead of relying on complex build pipelines, his work treats documentation as composable, executable artifacts. He demonstrates these decentralized approaches in his talk on interactive markdown and remote labs.
