Jack McCauley designs hardware that changes how people interact with computers. He co-founded Oculus VR as chief engineer, driving the development of the original headsets. Before that, he built the iconic guitars and drums for the Guitar Hero franchise.

His engineering footprint goes back decades—he invented the scrolling wheel mouse in 1987 and helped author the original USB specification. Currently a professor at UC Berkeley, his talks break down how early video game GPUs laid the mathematical groundwork for modern AI.
