Natanael Copa builds minimal, secure open-source infrastructure. As a software engineer at Mirantis, he maintains the k0s Kubernetes distribution and is best known as the creator of Alpine Linux.
His work challenges traditional server models. Instead of treating nodes as long-lived machines, Natanael designs immutable workers that boot entirely from RAM. He treats Kubernetes workers more like disposable firmware than full operating systems, a shift that simplifies upgrades and security across both edge and bare-metal environments.
