Utz Bacher builds the software ecosystem for photonic processors at Q.ANT. He focuses on making emerging compute paradigms accessible for AI and high-performance workloads, exploring how hardware that computes with light integrates into standard x86 systems.
Before joining Q.ANT, he spent 25 years at IBM. He wrote high-speed networking code for Linux kernels, served as the lead architect for Linux on IBM Z, and designed the infrastructure to bring IBM Quantum to the cloud.
