TU Company Day

In December, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from the talente.programm by Technische Universität Wien here at Raiffeisen Bank International AG. The young talents demonstrated their skills in a #cloud case and got to know our most wanted IT profiles. There was a good laugh at the beer o'clock afterwards, with our professionals rehashing stories from their own student days. It's always nice to see when our employees act as role models and establish a very special relationship with the students.

 

The TU talente.programm is a special occasion for us to join forces with Raiffeisen Informatik, Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien AG, and bat-groupware – it was a blast working together!

High Potential Learning Journeys

We successfully closed our newly designed Learning Journeys with the last workshops. The journeys covered strategic topics of Raiffeisen Bank International AG such as #ESG, #Agile, #Data, #Leadership, and #Entrepreneurship. It was amazing to see the development of our participants who demonstrated an impressive #growth over the last year. Their enthusiasm and learning was inspiring!

Agile Engineering Days

At this year’s Agile Engineering Days, Raiffeisen Bank International AG’s internal engineering conference, two guest speakers inspired the bank’s engineering community with hot topics from the #DevOps universe.
 

 Jessica Joy Kerr from Honeycomb.io spoke about how to manage complex systems in production while Moira Cheng from the Vodafone Group shared the challenges of the engineering #transformation at Vodafone Group with the audience.
 

Moreover, the crowd shared their experiences about User Interface A/B testing, the right way to collect engineering metrics, event driven architecture in our banking systems and web-based development environments. The conference is an important part of RBI’s transformation to modern software engineering.

Female Empowerment #RBI

Twenty-four participants in the second edition of the WEMP - Women EMPowerment journey for Ops & IT ladies – received training vouchers for further personality development training and coaching. During the last months they had the opportunity to drive their own individual learning needs based on #INNERSELF #OUTERSELF #VISIBILITY and #NETWORKING.
 

 In our regular sessions we invited special guests like  Anita Kovacic CEO RBKO, or Julia Zotter General Manager at Zotter Organic Chocolate Shanghai Ltd. to hear more about their experiences, how they overcame hurdles and obstacles and why they did their way out of comfort zone.

Agile Demo Day

On 27 June, the Raiffeisen Bank International AG's first Agile Demo Day of 2022 was all about #customerexperience. The hybrid setting allowed at least a little audience to join on-site and several hundred joined virtually.

Two product demos with the titles „How the right approach helped us build a valuable product” and “Building "lego-like" websites for RBI Group ensuring brand consistency and time-to-market” as well as a panel discussion featuring our CEO Johann Strobl and experts on the topic of customer experience.

Confare #CIOAWARED Nominee Elisabeth Geyer-Schall: Agile Working at RBI

Meet Elisabeth Geyer-Schall, Division Lead Group IT Delivery at RBI AG, who has successfully created agility in IT and modernized cooperation with specialist departments in RBI.

 

As Division Lead Group IT Delivery at RBI AG, Elisabeth Geyer-Schall has transformed her company's IT operations by encouraging agile teams to work across departments in the interests of the customer, rather than being constrained by organizational silos. Her efforts have not only created agility in IT, but have also modernized cooperation with specialist departments. She has been recognized as an exciting candidate for the Confare #CIOAWARD and the award for Top CIO of the Year!

 

Unfortunately, women are still underrepresented in the IT industry, but as part of female IT mentoring, we support women who are aiming for an IT career. Over 500 top-class IT managers, including Elisabeth, have already registered for the Confare #CIOSUMMIT, the largest and most important IT management meeting place in Austria.

Sunday runday 🏃‍♀️

Among the approximately 35,000 participants in the 40th Vienna City Marathon on 23 April was also a large number of RBI colleagues.
 
 They represented the #bank at the iconic race – either as participants of the relay #marathon, the half marathon, or the full marathon and had a lot of fun!

Loyalty Evolution Hackathon

Elevator Lab and Blockchain Hub, together with colleagues from Customer Engagement Platforms & Products team in Raiffeisen Bank International AG, organized a Loyalty Hackathon from 24th until 26th of March. Thirteen teams from three CEE countries spent the weekend in-person in Vienna’s Talent Garden, creating solutions aiming to improve customer engagement and #loyalty, in two challenges:

➡️ Business challenge - Hack the loyalty with innovative engagement
Winner of the Challenge was PUCWOLL, a Slovakian team of students and young professionals, that created and delivered a solution based on the gamification of the client loyalty experience.

➡️ Technology-based challenge - Hack the loyalty with blockchain
Winner of the Challenge was Überall, a team of Austrian developers and young professionals, with a loyalty solution for cash management.

Two winning teams were awarded a prize of 3.000 EUR each by a professional jury led by Iryna Arzner, Head of Retail Customer Growth and Christian Wolf, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystems.

Meet our Corporate Volunteers

Raiffeisen Bank International AG says THANK YOU to its corporate #volunteers who are involved in various projects.

For example the 45 volunteers of our Stepic CEE Charity, who supported more than 3,500 beneficiaries across the #CEE region in 2022. This year, exceptional work was done helping displaced children, families and colleagues through emergency relief efforts in #Ukraine, its neighboring countries and in #Austria.

As the Stepic CEE Charity is supported by Raiffeisen Bank International's Corporate Volunteering Program, administrative costs can be kept as low as possible so that almost all donations reach the beneficiaries.
