Benefits & conditions
The optical networking group develops systems for high-speed optical transmission over fibers. These systems are leading in the market providing customers with highest end optical interfaces (currently400G), total system capacity (currently 10Tbit), system density and energy consumption. These embedded systemsare designed as multi-processor cluster equipped with latest state of art multi-core CPUs, embedded SoC, and other infrastructure. The SW development department delivers the full range of SW components which are required to operate these systems. Components thus cover all layers from OS kernel drivers, or specialized ASIC or FPGA drivers, communication and application SW, up to graphical interfaces for operating the system.
Development tasks are highly demanding in technical and soft skills and are developed in a culture of autonomy and individual responsibility as part of a international development team. In detail they consist of:
- design and implement software for Nokia's intelligent optical networking application GMPLS
- develop software components for our current and next generation , focus on routing
- support customer facing teams with technical expertise and problem analysis
