Job description

  • Build, wire, and integrate electro-mechanical UAV subsystems (power, sensors, control modules)
  • Set up and optimize lab-based production and assembly workflows
  • Dimension and assemble low-voltage electrical systems (fuses, connectors, EMI filters, converters)
  • Diagnose and repair UAVs returned from field missions; document and implement permanent fixes
  • Deliver detailed build, wiring, and repair documentation for production and maintenance teams
  • Train team members on hardware assembly, troubleshooting, and repair procedures
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure full system integration
  • Support field deployments, perform on-site repairs, and implement quick design improvements
  • Iterate continuously to improve robustness, maintainability, and reliability of UAV systems

Requirements

Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, * Background in mechatronics, robotics, or electro-mechanical engineering (degree or equivalent experience)

  • Proven hands-on experience assembling, wiring, and repairing UAVs, drones, or robotic systems
  • Strong practical background with RC aircraft, FPV drones, or quadcopter builds (personal or extracurricular projects are a huge plus)
  • Skilled in soldering, crimping, cable routing, and connector selection
  • Familiar with DC power systems (batteries, converters, fuses, surge protection, EMI)
  • Comfortable interpreting or modifying mechanical CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, NX) for assembly purposes
  • Experience with mechanical integration, fasteners, adhesives, and mounting in tight spaces
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and using diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, current clamp)
  • Clear and consistent documentation skills for builds, tests, and repairs
  • Pragmatic problem-solver with a focus on building reliable, testable, and field-ready hardware
  • Nationality of a NATO member nation or close ally is a must
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain security clearance
