Job description
- You will work in an experienced team that has been developing complex big data applications and components in close collaboration with our customers for many years. You will contribute to efficiently processing large data volumes and making them valuable and usable.
- Your tasks include familiarizing yourself with the concepts, processes, and data flows of complex systems. You will be responsible for the further development, maintenance, and monitoring of existing subsystems and ensure the quality and stability of applications through testing and analysis.
- Together with the team, you will identify sources of errors, develop solutions, and ensure continuous improvement of our systems. In addition, you will develop new ideas, concepts, and designs for future use cases and conduct feasibility studies to evaluate and implement innovative approaches.
- In close coordination with project management, the development team, and the customer, you will ensure that technical requirements are implemented precisely and that sustainable, practical solutions are created.
- You will become part of our team for customer-specific system and product development in an environment that promotes collaboration, initiative, and technical understanding equally.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in software development and software design, ideally in large and complex projects
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, combined with creativity and enthusiasm for challenging processes and tasks
- Quick comprehension and the ability to work with distributed and parallelized applications
- Excellent knowledge of Java, scripting languages, databases, SQL, version control, and experience working in Windows and Linux environments
- Practical experience with CI/CD processes and modern build and deployment pipelines
- Familiarity with testing strategies, especially unit, integration, and load testing
- Experience developing according to specifications using UML, in close collaboration with solution architects and customers
- Enjoyment of collaborating with customers on requirements analysis, concepts, feasibility studies, and specification development
- Independent, precise, and structured working style, combined with commitment and teamwork skills
- Good written and spoken German and English skills (the application process is conducted in German)
Nice to have:
- Experience with big data systems and concepts such as Hadoop/Cloudera, Spark, ELK, and Kafka
- Solid knowledge in the development of service-oriented and distributed systems
- Competence in data analysis, particularly with Apache Spark and BI tools
- Experience working in agile development projects (e.g., Scrum)
