Software Development Manager

As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for the delivery of software solutions which are centered around our technical data and cataloguing solutions. Your team will be geographically spread and travel to remotes sites will be part of the job.

You will oversee all aspects of the software development cycle, including but not limited to collecting business requirements, managing stakeholder expectations, planning, quality assurance and timely delivery. Your role is crucial in ensuring internal and external stakeholder satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality data services to power our AI / Content strategy within existing and new territories.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of software professionals. Allocate resources effectively and set clear team goals. Ensure team members have the necessary tools and training to perform effectively. Produce team objectives in line with company strategy.

Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of code delivered. Address and rectify any issues or discrepancies against best practices.

Compliance and Security: Ensure all data handling and delivery processes comply with relevant data protection and privacy laws. Maintain the highest standards of data security to protect sensitive information.

Innovation and Process Improvement: Continually assess and improve our software factories. Embrace innovative solutions and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Reporting: Provide regular reports to stakeholders on team performance, project progress, and any challenges encountered.

The tasks awaiting you:

• Manage product deliveries (Collectors / Aggregators / Viewers / APIs / Reports)
• Manage regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders and produce summary notes
• Sprint management
• Team appraisals and objective setting
• Managing regular team "stand-ups"
• Supporting the team to escalate and triage support tickets

• HBO+ working and thinking level
• Project and sprint management
• Good communications skills
• At least 8 years of working experience as senior Java Developer
• Extensive knowledge of AWS ecosystem, Atlassian tooling, CI/CD
• Team player and willingness for 'hands-on' approach
• Excellent Analytical skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in Dutch and English . French speaking would be desirable not necessary
