Job description

We are looking for an experienced PowerBI Data Analyst to join a mission-driven organisation working to deliver impactful environmental and sustainability outcomes for over two million residents in North London. This is an exciting opportunity to use your advanced PowerBI skills, data analysis expertise, and collaborative mindset to deliver meaningful insights and support strategic decision-making., * Data Analytics & Insights: Gather, analyse and synthesise data from a wide range of internal and external sources. Produce clear, actionable insights to inform services, strategy, policy, and reporting.

  • PowerBI Development: Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and data models using PowerQuery, DAX, and advanced visualisation techniques. Support builds initiated by others where needed.
  • Data Management & Governance: Ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with governance standards. Maintain data dictionaries and support best practices in data management.
  • Data Modelling & Cleansing: Design, develop, and compare data models, carry out batch cleansing and enrichment processes. Develop business intelligence architecture in collaboration with digital and data teams.
  • Visualisation & Storytelling: Present complex data in clear, engaging ways for diverse audiences - from operational staff to senior leadership.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with colleagues across technical and non-technical roles. Lead discussions to define requirements and generate actionable insights.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues in databases, processes and data products. Develop innovative solutions and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods including sampling, regression, clustering and more to support business questions.
  • Project Support: Apply project management methodologies and collaborate on delivering new reporting solutions and statutory returns.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Support and oversee junior analysts where needed and contribute to a wider community of data professionals.

Requirements

Dax, Data Processing, Data Quality Assurance, Information Security, Dashboards, Data Governance, Data Models, Insight Generation, * Valid Passport or Photo ID to prove you right to work

  • Strong experience with PowerBI, including PowerQuery, DAX, combining multiple datasets, and semantic models.
  • Proven ability to build, maintain and improve dashboards and data models.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data management, and data quality assurance.
  • Experience in presenting complex data using clear visualisations and storytelling.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods for data processing and insight generation.
  • Logical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong IT and mathematical skills with a keen eye for information security.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a digital, data or technology function.
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively and set realistic expectations.
