Job description
As the Process Support Manager for Slough Heat and Power (SHP), you will play a pivotal role in supporting SSE Thermal's journey toward a net zero future. SHP is a dynamic and fast-growing private utility business serving over 400 commercial customers, operating a diverse range of infrastructure including a 20MW waste wood CHP power station, electricity distribution, heat networks, and a drinking water supply network.
You will

Lead SHE & Environmental Systems: Coordinate and maintain the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO14001 and driving high performance across SHP assets.

Ensure Environmental Compliance: Manage environmental permits and act as the primary liaison with SSE's Environmental Managers, working closely with site chemist to meet regulatory requirements.

Manage Risk, Audits & Reporting: Maintain the SHE Risk Register, lead internal and external audits, and oversee corrective actions to ensure robust risk management and regulatory compliance.

Support Water & Network Compliance: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure drinking water and electricity networks meet all legislative and operational standards.

Drive Business Assurance & Performance: Lead compliance efforts for SHP, manage performance data systems, and ensure accurate reporting across regulatory schemes including CHPQA, EUETS, ROCs, and Drinking Water.
You have
- Extensive knowledge of SHE regulations, and ISO14001 environmental management systems, with proven experience conducting internal audits and maintaining compliance.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Leadership?, * Technical background in science, engineering, or environment, supported by industry qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH), hands-on experience in thermal generation and network operations would be advantageous.

Strong document management skills, including developing, reviewing, and updating safety-related documents in line with regulatory and corporate standards.

Proven ability to engage with regulatory bodies and auditors, confidently representing the business in environmental and safety matters.

Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills, with a proactive approach to safety and the ability to drive cultural and operational improvements across all levels.
