Shopify Backend Developer - Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS

We are seeking an experienced Shopify Developer to lead the redesign and enhancement of our e-commerce website. You will be responsible for developing and implementing new features, optimising user experience, and ensuring our site remains high-performing and scalable as we grow.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both the front-end and back-end capabilities of Shopify, particularly within the Online Store 2.0 framework. You should be comfortable creating custom, editable sections, improving site filters and navigation, and integrating new technologies to enhance functionality., * Redesign and modernize the GymSets Shopify storefront in line with updated branding and design direction.

• Build and implement custom, reusable Shopify sections using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Develop advanced collection filters (brand, price, category, type, etc.) to improve product discovery.
• Utilise Shopify metafields and dynamic sources to enhance product data management.
• Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to translate ideas into effective website features.
• Ensure site speed, accessibility, and SEO best practices are maintained across all updates.
• Integrate and optimize third-party Shopify apps as needed.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and document code for long-term scalability.

Do you have experience in JavaScript?, * Proven experience developing and customizing Shopify themes (Online Store 2.0).

• Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Shopify JSON templates and schema configurations.
• Familiarity with metafields, filters, and custom app integrations.
• Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Shopify Plus.
• Understanding of SEO and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with Figma or similar design tools.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
