Job description

NLB Solutions are working with a large business that are looking for an individual that has solid excel skills that can deal with analysis of data related to packaging for the new regulations that have come into force recently. The client is looking for someone that has excellent Excel skills and communication skills as they will be liaising with suppliers and internal contacts. The role will report into 2 senior managers and therefore needs someone that is able to manage their work load independently.

With excellent support for the new person, this role will develop into a pivotal role with the business. There are lots of local amenities and parking for the employees and the role is to work in the office 5 days a week. Duties:

  • Data Collection & Coordination
  • Liaise with suppliers to collect packaging specifications, environmental data, and related documentation
  • Collaborate with third-party providers or platforms to support data validation and consolidation
  • Ensure timely and complete data delivery from suppliers, aligned with reporting and audit timelines.
  • Work closely with buying teams, sustainability teams, and operations to identify and support packaging reduction
  • Data Review & Analysis
  • Review and clean incoming data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Analyse packaging material information
  • Identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities across packaging categories
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • Support the preparation of reports and dashboards to monitor packaging performance.
  • Contribute data for regulatory and voluntary disclosures (e.g. UK Plastic Packaging Tax, EPR, CDP, TCFD, UK SRS).
  • Maintain accurate records to support audits and supplier assessments
  • Any other related tasks in the finance team

Requirements

  • Graduate, preferably with a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel skills, preferably experience with data analytics tool such as Alteryx
  • Strong analytical skills are required with the ability to accurately manipulate large amounts of data from multiple sources.
  • Candidate must be a team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be comfortable in liaising at all levels, including senior management, in all areas of the business.
  • Initial training will be provided, but the candidate must be highly motivated, a fast learner and show plenty of initiative.
  • Attention to detail, deadline-focussed, good organisational skills and a flexible attitude in prioritising work tasks and ad hoc requirements are essential.
