Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to coordinate, design, implement, and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, regulatory compliance, data centre environments and scalability. The role requires strong communication skills and fluency in Mandarian to effectively interpret and deliver requirements from our HQ. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in networking, system administration, along with strong problem-solving and leadership skills. This position is particularly suited for individuals with proven cross-border collaboration experience, end-to-end infrastructure delivery expertise, and the ability to translate global (e.g. China HQ) IT requirements into effective, localised infrastructure solutions within the UK or European context. The role plays a critical part in ensuring uninterrupted business operations, regulatory compliance, and high stakeholder satisfaction across our infrastructure footprint., Infrastructure Design & Deployment

  • Architect and deploy secure, compliant infrastructure. Experience leading successful ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR, and local regulatory requirements
  • Deploy and maintain networking equipment (core switches, firewalls, VPNs), storage systems, and virtualisation platforms (e.g. VMware)
  • Optimize infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring infrastructure meets security and regulatory requirements.
  • Document policies, procedures, and controls for audit readiness.
  • Translate and adapt HQ-level infrastructure and compliance requirements into locally effective solutions

System Administration & Operations

  • Manage Linux/Windows servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

  • Ensure high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and backup solutions.

  • Own the full infrastructure lifecycle, including maintenance planning, asset tracking, documentation (SOPs/MOPs), and RFP evaluations

  • Conduct regular health checks, penetration response coordination, and vendor performance management

  • Perform risk mitigation planning for data centre connectivity, backup and DR failover, and third-party equipment updates Networking & Security

  • Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and DNS.

  • Implement security best practices (IAM, Zero Trust, encryption, patch management).

  • Troubleshoot complex network and latency issues.

  • Collaborate with security teams to remediate findings from internal/external audits.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical incident response.
  • Adapt Travelling to HQ and other subsidiaries.
  • Audit Collaboration & Leadership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for infrastructure audits.
  • Train teams on compliance best practices and audit preparedness.
  • Work with Legal & GRC teams to align infrastructure with evolving regulations

Requirements

Code, Interpersonal Skills, English, Iso, Computer Science, Information Systems, Internal Audit, Mandarin, * Significant demonstrable experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud platforms, data centre or systems administration.

  • Strong command of regulatory frameworks: ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS, and internal audit workflows. ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor
  • Hands-on experience managing vendors, reviewing RFPs, and handling service cutovers
  • Bilingual (Mandarin + English), with experience interpreting and localising HQ-level IT policies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional, multicultural teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture standards and frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Experience in AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, SD-WAN, CDNs).
  • Experienced with audit/compliance with pass tracking records
  • Fluent in Mandarin speaking and writing.

Preferred:

  • On Prem platform/DR/Data centre experience.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code Concepts and tools (e.g.: Terraform, Ansible)-willingness to develop deeper expertise.
  • Experience working in multicultural and cross-border project environments
  • Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies.
