- Providing day to day support for internal customers via the IT helpdesk, and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure services
- Building, configuring, administering and supporting infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: computing, storage, networking etc
- Understand information security and the security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services, along with implementing as required
- Producing detailed designs and document all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate
- Testing system change and implementations
- Producing and maintaining documentation/Knowledge Bases on managed IT systems to support the wider team and business, with opportunities to train team members in new and current technologies to provide knowledge transfer
Requirements
Do you have experience in VMware?, We are recruiting for an Azure Cloud Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in our hybrid setup and requires a unique combination of skills in both cloud and traditional infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in managing and implementing cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, as well as a strong understanding of on-premise infrastructure. You will be expected to work on a wide range of systems and advise on technology best practices whilst striving to continuously improve service quality around our technology environments. Other key tasks will include, * Microsoft or Azure qualified is desirable
Experience acting as technical escalation point within a small technical team to deliver a high standard and quality of work
- Extensive knowledge of configuration and administration of hybrid Azure estates including IaaS and PaaS solutions
- Proficient in the latest Microsoft Windows server, Linux, and desktop operating systems technology stacks, including Azure Virtual Desktop/Nerdio
- Working knowledge and skills in virtual technologies such as Hyper-V and VMWare
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to ensure the continuous operation and support of our end user and IT infrastructure (after passing probation period)
- Desirable experience with 1st, 2nd, 3rd line support
- Beneficial knowledge of Manage Engine & Zoho One, and Sprints/Agile frameworks

If you are interested in our role and meet the requirements above, then please do get in touch. Our working hours are 8.45am - 5.30pm, Monday - Friday. You would be 'on call' after passing the probation successfully. In order to assist you to perform the above additional duties the Company will provide you with a mobile phone or reimburse you £25.00 per month to cover the additional charges incurred by you. The role is based in our central Manchester office, with the option to work 2 days per week at home (in the UK).
