Job description
We are looking for a Lead Developer with deep WordPress plugin development experience to join our growing, ambitious team. You will manage a small global team and oversee the development and maintenance of UpdraftPlus, ensuring high-quality code and delivery of new features. Remote work is fully supported with flexible hours (32-40 per week) and a requirement of 4 hours of UK work-hour overlap per day., * Work in PHP, JavaScript and WordPress libraries to write clean, efficient and secure code
- Line-manage the plugin development team
- Ensure tasks are appropriately assigned, reviewed, and completed by the team
- Maintain high technical standards in the code base
- Utilise the lead architect's knowledge to achieve the best direction for the plugin
- Identify priorities, resolve blockers
- Act as the key point of contact for technical queries related to the plugin
- Liaise with QA and Product Managers to align development work with wider business goals, * Opportunities to connect with the team at annual WordCamp events across Europe, Asia, or the US
- Regular online connections through 1 : 1s, team meetings, and company updates
Requirements
- PHP - experience developing WordPress plugins
- JavaScript - solid knowledge, though a smaller part of the role
- Managing other developers
- Working with key stakeholders
- GitHub / GitLab / Git experience is a plus (can be learned quickly)
