Job description
The Customer Intelligence 360 Audience team is looking for a Principal Software Developer to join us and improve our data ingestion and personalization capabilities.
In SAS Customer Intelligence 360, audiences represent real individuals-each with unique attributes, behaviours, and preferences. The challenge isn't just organizing this data, but rethinking how it's gathered, interpreted, and activated across the platform. That requires someone who can conceptualize new methods for defining and using audiences, not just improve existing mechanisms.
We are passionate about high performance web services and distributed computing to support advertising and marketing. We seek another like-minded creative individual ready to join a team that builds, maintains, and operates a software-as-a-service advertising product within public cloud infrastructure. Although we use many different programming languages within our solution, this position will primarily involve the use of Java, Python and AWS tools and services.
If you are a software developer that wants to work on a team that has ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, tackles complex problems, and delivers innovative solutions, then we would love to hear from you.
The Principal Software Developer on the Audiences team holds a role of significant operational influence within SAS Customer Intelligence 360. Their decisions directly shape how audience data is ingested, structured, and activated, functions that underpin the platform's ability to deliver personalized marketing at scale. These decisions are not isolated to technical execution; they affect how marketers identify their customers, how data flows through the system, and how the product delivers value to our clients.
As a Principal Software Developer, you will :
- Design and develop new functionality, perform routine maintenance and production support.
- Architect portions of the solution using the latest tools and technologies.
- Collaborate with product management and other team members on requirements and technical issues to produce high quality and maintainable tools and services.
- Contribute to reviews to ensure the highest quality of software is produced by the team.
- Write and maintain automated tests to support continuous integration and deployment.
- Eventually take part in the on-call rotation for the team.
- Encourage and mentor other members of the team.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.
- Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. These are our values and influence everything we do.
