The Global Migration Solution Engineer will take on the development of tools to support multiple migration strategies for medical imaging data, by applying the latest software engineering technologies, standards, and best practices. The engineer ensures each design change follows our quality assurance and security control processes and gets delivered on-time. The engineer will join a very dynamic and talented software development team and will work closely with the R&D teams to ensure that both our migration tools and the Agfa HealthCare IT solutions and platforms, including Cloud solutions, will evolve in very collaborative way, with the expected quality and performance level.

The Global Migration Solution Engineer is part of a team that is geographically dispersed across North America (Canada) and Europe (Belgium) designing, developing, validating and documenting Agfa tools, and delivering expert support to Agfa HealthCare resources in all regions (EMEA, NA, LATAM, ASPAC). The team members interact mostly remotely and collaborate very frequently.

Major Accountabilities:

The Global Migration Solution Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:

• Analyse functional requirements and propose relevant design changes to the Agfa tools, according to the priority ranking assigned to them

• Take ownership of the development and testing of the approved design changes

• Troubleshoot and fix issues, and/or propose valid workarounds for issues encountered with the Agfa tools

• Adhere to the design, documentation, development, quality assurance, security control and support processes of the Agfa tools

• Work collaboratively with the global PS development teams and the Agfa R&D teams, discuss API requirements, and discover new migration requirements due to product changes/enhancements or tech innovations

• Work very closely with global migration experts to reach success on pilot projects, when preparing a new release of the Agfa tools. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. Experience: Experience programming in Java is a must. Bonus points if you have:

• Experience working with CDI and/or EJB containers,

• Experience in healthcare industry (HL7/DICOM/IHE),

• Hands-on experience in data migrations,

• Experience with SQL and database technology (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS-SQL),

• Experience both creating and consuming RESTful API calls,

• Experience with agile methodologies and with modern software development tools & solutions (Eclipse, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube),

• Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud computing,

• Proven experience delivering projects on time. Specific skills :

• Excellent software design and development skills, track record of strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present prototypes and to demonstrate new features.

• Background in technical writing - specifically functional requirements and design specifications.

• The ideal candidate will have high standards, be curious and a quick learner, be a good team player and able to work autonomously.
