Job description
For our client, a leading defense tech company, we seek an IT Security Architect / Engineer responsible for designing and implementing robust security measures to protect critical corporate data and infrastructure in compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves defining and managing IT security architectures, contributing to enterprise-wide security strategies, and collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance cybersecurity resilience. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement technical security measures to protect information and systems in accordance with legal and industry standards. Design, maintain, and monitor IT security architecture across various business units. Participate in corporate security committees to ensure a unified IT security strategy and approach. Conduct technical assessments to identify vulnerabilities and continuously improve protection mechanisms. Occasionally implement and administer IT security systems. Collaborate with internal departments, authorities, and external partners to exchange security-related information and develop new security solutions. Support IT security audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory and industry best practices. Continuously monitor emerging security threats and trends to optimize the company's cybersecurity strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT security, computer science, or a related field. Alternatively, relevant certifications and professional experience may be considered. Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in IT security roles. Strong expertise in designing and administering IT security systems. Experience in a security-focused organization or highly regulated industry. Proven experience in IT security audits and compliance assessments. Practical knowledge of cryptographic procedures and secure networks. Certifications (preferred): CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar security certifications. Skills & Competencies Technical Skills: IT security architecture and management. Implementation and administration of security systems. Risk assessment and vulnerability management. Cryptographic technologies and network security. Knowledge of BSI IT-Grundschutz and other security standards. Soft Skills: Strong sense of responsibility and analytical thinking. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security topics clearly. Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities. Team-oriented approach with the ability to work across departments.
