As a Java Developer in our department of System Operations, you will be at the forefront of designing and building applications for congestion management, a critical component in ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of our electricity grid. Working closely with Java and Kotlin developers, you will leverage your skills in back-end development, Spring framework, and container orchestration to create solutions that manage grid capacities and integrate forecasts with customer and market demands.

  • Design and develop: Utilize your expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, and functional programming to build robust back-end systems. Your work will directly address congestion issues, enabling the connection of new companies and sustainable energy sources to the grid.

  • Collaborate for success: Work within the Market Roles Flex team, a dynamic and agile group, to connect internal forecasts with external customer needs. Your ability to work well in a team and independently will be key to our success.

  • Innovate and optimize: Your contributions will not only solve current grid challenges but also pave the way for future advancements in grid management. With a focus on continuous learning and improvement, you'll help us stay ahead of the curve.   • At least 5 years of back-end development experience, preferably in Kotlin or Java 11+

  • Proficiency with the Spring framework and a solid understanding of Linux and network/security concepts

  • Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes/OpenShift and Infrastructure as Code are desirable

  • A knack for functional programming is a plus

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills, with a willingness to engage in constructive dialogue to find the best solutions

  • A gross monthly salary of € 4.274 to € 7.079;

  • An Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% of your gross annual salary. You can use your personal budget for purchasing extra days off or have it paid every month as extra salary. In December you'll receive an end-of-year bonus of 5.94% of your gross annual salary.

  • The possibility to work from home or the offices in Arnhem or Amsterdam;

  • A Sustainable Employability Budget of €500 per year.
