Senior Backend Developer

What will you do as our Senior Developer?

You might already have Ruby On Rails experience, although this is not a must, as we believe in life long learning, and can help you succeed. You'll have the opportunity to build new features from the ground up, and be responsible for them when they go live. Some of your daily activities will include:

• Participating in planning together with the PO and other colleagues
• Building and implementing new features from the ground up
• Supporting other colleagues in choosing the right (technical) solutions
• Taking full responsibility for your features from the beginning, to them going live and beyond.

Our stack is:

• Ruby on Rails back-end
• React front-end
• Deployed on Google App Engine
• Using MYSQL and Reddis.

Who are you?

You're passionate developer, who has worked previously in a Senior position and you enjoy working in an Innovative, agile environment. You believe in making education better for children, and can bring fresh, new ideas to the table.

We consider the following points to be important:

• You know your way around the development space, and have been in a Senior Developer position previously.
• You have exceptional analytical problem solving skills
• You have experience with automated tests, and a solid understanding of common design patterns
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• The ability to write clean, maintainable code, following standards and guidelines
• You're a team plater, and can work with multi-disciplinary teams
• A thorough understanding of of relational database concepts and practices
• Have extensive experience building APIs
