Introduction Our client a work within the Defence and National Security sector, they are looking for an Information Assurance Engineer to ensure high level security and compliance to information systems. You will be making sure risks are identified and managed, policies are followed and documentation is kept secure, especially as you will be working within National Security for the client. You will need previous experience working within the National Security sector. Working Patterns and location - This role is based full time on site in Gloucester. This is a part time position with Fridays off. Key responsibilities Identify risks and liaise with the Information Assurance Security manager if any threats need mitigating. Ensure correct framework applications and objectives are implied. Provide compliance documentation to be reviewed. Report to the Line Manager if any processes need updating and proposed system changes. Maintain oversight of any system-related information and ensure it is appropriately protectively marked. Raise any aggregation risks to the UK Liner manager. Ensure that product information is mastered on the customer's corporate knowledge base. Understand corporate security policies and ensure they are adhered to. Report and manage all security incidents to the UK line manager Ensuring all security documentation is kept up to date. Conduct periodic reviews and audits of systems and personnel. Maintain a record of and manage any security incidents. Ensuring the line manager is kept informed of any security related configuration changes. Skills & experience Previous experience of working as an IASM/O. Understanding of networking architectures and software delivery. Experience of working with cloud-based delivery methods. Professional Information Security consultant qualifications e.g. IISP, ITSSP, CISSP. Experience of applying information assurance principles during systems development and integration. The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required. Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on complex topics. Experience of working within software development teams. The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential: Ability to analyse technical problems and provide pragmatic risk-based solutions. Proven ability to produce cost effective and technically compliant solutions. Experience with Agile, or Kanban methodologies. Knowledge of Jira, Confluence and GitBucket tools for project tracking, collaboration, and reporting. Use of MS Office tools, including SharePoint, for documentation and reporting purposes.
