Job description

Introduction Our client supports Defence and Commercial clients and are looking an enthusiastic Junior Infrastructure Engineer who is looking for the chance to progress! They want someone with a broad knowledge of systems administration and networking technologies. They ideally want someone who have experience with IaC and Ansible, otherwise someone with scripting experience who is keen to learn and automate would be considered! Working Patterns: This role is based predominantly on site in Cheltenham town centre. Key responsibilities Support the planning, design, and implementation of IT infrastructure solutions (physical and virtual). Scripting using Ansible to develop IaC tools. Ongoing maintenance and support of deployed IT infrastructure. Troubleshooting and resolution of reported IT Infrastructure issues. Regular system health monitoring and maintenance, including backups, patch-management/vulnerability management, and software/hardware upgrades in line with lifecycle management.

Requirements

Creation, development, and maintenance of documentation for all deployed, monitored, and supported infrastructure. Networking technology and protocol support. Development and maintenance of scripts and/or automation tools used to increase efficiency of common system administration tasks. Skills & experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience. System administration/support background. Scripting/IaC tools (Ansible/AWX, Python, PowerShell, BASH). System Administration (Microsoft, Linux). Networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc). Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Keen to learn and progress. Additional benefits 25 Days holiday (+Bank Holidays). Company Car Scheme.
