Embedded Android Developer

We are currently looking for a Principal Design Engineer with a mechanical engineering focus to join our New Products R&D team. The successful candidate will be a creative individual with the ability and enthusiasm to break down challenging problems and provide elegant proven design solutions. This role encompasses the product design from first concept through to production and will require a keen awareness of time pressures including strategies for optimising and prioritising requirements to meet deadlines.

Background Details:

The engineering department is responsible for the design of instruments consumables and functional packaging as well as novel manufacturing systems from concept through to automated production. The team includes over 30 engineers with core strengths in mechanical fluidic electronic firmware and production engineering. We place a strong emphasis on maximising new product function within radically small form factors. We engineer each product from first principles and as a result nearly all parts are custom designed.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conducting design feasibility studies
• Crafting innovative concepts to address the technical needs of new products.
• Designing and developing concepts through detailed calculation testing and analysis.
• Supporting and trouble-shooting the introduction of new products into production.

• Mechanical engineering degree
• 10 years of experience in designing and developing products from concept through to production
• Skilled in designing dynamic systems
