As a Consultant / Expert Witness in Industrial Safety, you will combine strategic safety leadership, consultancy and expert witness development. You will:
- Lead complex safety consultancy projects across diverse high-hazard sectors.
- Provide authoritative advice on CDM compliance, risk assessment, audits, and safety management systems.
- Develop expert witness capability, prepare court-ready reports and support litigation.
- Influence senior leaders and boards, helping them shape safety strategy and improve risk decision-making.
- Contribute to Finch's technical voice through publications, training, industry committees and thought leadership.

Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, health and safety or a related technical discipline.
- Professional membership/chartered status.
- Significant experience in complex, highly regulated or high-hazard environments (10-15 years desirable).
- In-depth knowledge of UK/GB health and safety legislation, industry standards and good practice.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify and communicate complex risk issues.
- Consultancy capability: scoping, budgeting, reporting and client relationship management. Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership over work and a drive to make a meaningful contribution to the team and wider business
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with a natural ability to build relationships, share knowledge, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment
- Confident communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences, both verbally and in writing
- Adaptable and flexible, comfortable managing multiple priorities, shifting deadlines, and the varying demands of consultancy work
- Commercially aware, understanding how technical delivery contributes to client satisfaction, business reputation, and growth
- Detail-focused and analytical, with a commitment to high standards, accuracy, and evidence-based decision-making
