As a Senior Transmission Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of providing deep-dive analyses on all grid-related topics that matter commercially to our business and project development. You'll work within a dynamic, cross-country team that thrives on combining technical mastery with commercial acumen, collaborating closely with colleagues across Business Development, Project Engineering and Regulatory Affairs.

  • Bring expert knowledge of the UK and Irish power transmission and distribution systems, such as network charges, grid connections, expansion, and curtailment risks.
  • Integrate technical and commercial perspectives to guide our understanding of power system operation and evolving regulatory and technological trends.
  • Collaborate across Commercial, Development, and Engineering teams to unlock grid-related business opportunities and protect against revenue and cost risks.
  • Conduct power flow and congestion studies using in-house tools and external consultants, and provide grid insights for project valuation and long-term market modelling.
  • Gather, develop, and share expertise within multi-disciplinary teams, presenting findings to a diverse array of working groups and (senior) management.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline), with a minimum of five years' relevant professional experience.
  • Deep knowledge of power grid planning, development, or project interconnection - including UK/Irish regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven hands-on experience in power flow simulations (e.g. DigSilent or similar software), especially for curtailment studies.
  • Practical understanding of power system operation, economics, and energy markets.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills - able to communicate complex technical info clearly to both technical and business audiences, including (senior) management.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and quick to identify value-creating opportunities and solutions.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Strong team player instinct, openness to new ideas, and the collaborative spirit to help a growing team thrive.

Advantageous, But Not Essential

  • Practical experience working with UK and/or Irish grid operators, consultants, associations, regulators, or strong network in the field.
  • Scripting ability in DPL, Python, or similar for advanced power flow modelling.
  • Familiarity with regulation or market design in other European countries or at EU-level.
  • Knowledge of generation economics, especially renewables.
  • Additional German or other European language skills.
