Job Title: Senior Engineer - Pressure SystemsLocation: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this roleSalary: £42,215+ depending on skills and experienceWhat you'll be doing:Review design proposals from external contractors and consultants for new and refurbished pressure systems installations to ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations and site standards.Typical list of pressure systems encountered on site:-Wet and Superheated Steam Systems-Industrial process gases, i.e. Argon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Propane etc-Natural Gas-Low and High Pressure Compressed Air systems-Mains water, Demineralised water-Hydraulic systemsProvide advice/guidance/recommendations to the wider business on pressure system issuesPreparation of technical reports and documentation to support new pressure system installations on siteDefine requirements for pressure systems in conjunction with end usersSupport

Requirements

Principal Engineers with the production and update of site engineering standards for pressure systemsEnsure that all new and modified assets are compliant with relevant current standards and meet stakeholder requirementsAssist project teams to review installations and commissioning of new and modified assets where discipline knowledge is requiredYour skills and experiences:HNC/HND qualified in mechanical engineeringUnderstanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) and other British and European standards covering pressure systemsRegistered with an engineering professional institute and working towards chartered statusAround 5 to 10 years design or installation experience working with pressure systemsBasic IT skills for working with MS Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to read piped services technical drawings including schematicsBenefits:As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Site Specialist Engineering team:As Senior Engineer - Pressure systems you will be joining a multi-discipline team comprising suitably qualified and experienced personnel (SQEP) in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil/Structural disciplines.

About the company

The main purpose of the team is to set site engineering standards and requirements for equipment/systems/facilities in accordance with legislation and process. You will be working under the direction of a Principal Engineer on a varied workload including involvement with a number of new buildings being built as part of the Shipyard expansion.
