Job description
As a Product Owner at ICIS (based in our London Bishopsgate office) you will be responsible for owning and prioritising the product backlog for one of ICIS platform data technology squads. You'll work closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to deliver high value products and services that support ICIS strategic goals. Responsibilities *
- Backlog Ownership: Manage and prioritise the squad's product backlog to ensure alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with a Senior Product Manager and internal stakeholders across product, technology, data to gather requirements and manage dependencies.
- Vision & Roadmap: Communicate the platform vision and product roadmap, translating strategic objectives into actionable tasks from the product function into tech.
- Agile Leadership: Work within Agile Scrum teams to deliver features, enhancements, and fixes across a platform. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives and platform quarterly planning.
- Governance & Quality: Maintain ICIS data quality, compliance, and accessibility.
- Performance Monitoring: Use data to measure product performance, test with stakeholders, and iterate based on feedback
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years as a Product Owner in Agile environments, preferably with large software or data teams.
- Technical Acumen: Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data platforms. Coding knowledge and understanding of AI is a plus but not required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to translate complex requirements into clear user stories and epics.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
- Tools: Proficiency in tools like JIRA and data analysis platforms.
Desirable but not essential requirements: *
- Experience in energy markets or commodity pricing, with a strong understanding of benchmarking methodologies, price discovery processes, and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with price reporting, index development, or commodity data analysis (e.g., oil, gas, petrochemicals, metals, or renewables).
- Ability to interpret and apply benchmarking frameworks to support product development, pricing strategies, or regulatory compliance.
