Job description

The ARTORG Center at the University of Bern is an interdisciplinary research institute at the interface of medicine, engineering, and data science. Within the SNF Spark project "Sonifying Tinnitus from EEG Signals", we aim to develop a deep learning-based pipeline to reconstruct acoustic representations of tinnitus directly from EEG recordings, enabling an objective and quantifiable characterization of phantom auditory perception.

Tasks

  • Adapt and implement deep learning models and apply them to tinnitus EEG datasets
  • Design and conduct controlled EEG experiments
  • Analyze reconstructed auditory representations and evaluate feasibility
  • Contribute to scientific publications and final project reporting

Requirements

Do you have experience in Spark?, Do you have a Doctoral degree?, PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field; or equivalent research experience

  • Strong background in machine learning and deep learning
  • Experience with EEG data analysis and signal processing
  • Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks
  • Interest in auditory neuroscience and neurophysiological data
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment
