• Nee, deze job kan niet op afstand uitgevoerd worden., To support this journey, we are looking for a hands-on Lead Developer with deep technical expertise in 3D data, photogrammetry, and geospatial systems, combined with strong product and leadership instincts. You will own the entire technical function at Airocollect: architecture, engineering execution, data pipelines, and technical strategy.

This is a builder-first role.

You will actively contribute to core algorithms and systems while shaping the team, roadmap, and long-term technical vision. You will work closely with the founders, product, and commercial teams to turn complex spatial data into a simple, scalable SaaS product.

Key Responsibilities

Photogrammetry, 3D & Geospatial Systems

Develop and improve photogrammetry and point-cloud processing pipelines Process and analyze LiDAR data and governmental geoservice point clouds Research, integrate, and optimize open-source photogrammetry and geometry tools Work on 3D visualization pipelines using Three.js Ensure accurate handling of geospatial data, projections, and coordinate systems (EPSG)

AI / ML & Algorithm Development

Design and improve AI/ML models for automatic roof detection and measurement (roof planes, hips, gutters, valleys, etc.) Implement and optimize: Feature extraction from spatial and point-cloud data, Geometry fitting algorithms (e.g. polyfit) and Random Forest-based classifiers and similar models.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Scale and own the long-term technical architecture for a scalable SaaS platform Design systems that balance performance, accuracy, scalability, and speed of execution

Product & Engineering Execution

Contribute hands-on to core codebases where technical depth is critical Translate customer and business needs into technical solutions Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and performance

Team Building & Culture

Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team Build a pragmatic, ownership-driven engineering culture

Required Technical Skills

Strong Knowledge (Required) Python Node.js C++ Angular / TypeScript MongoDB Point clouds & 3D data processing Three.js Geospatial data, maps & coordinate systems (EPSG, projections) AI / ML models

Photogrammetry tools LiDAR data processing Image processing & computer vision Research-oriented problem solving and algorithm evaluation

Nice to Have

Experience in roof modelling or construction-related data Knowledge of cloud-based processing pipelines Contributions to open-source projects, Senior technical leader with hands-on experience in complex data-heavy systems Comfortable operating in a Seed * Series A startup environment Strong balance between deep technical expertise and product thinking Able to lead by example while still writing and reviewing critical code Clear communicator who can explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders
