Software Specialist Warehouse Management Systems

At our transshipment warehouse for Festo production plants and numerous external suppliers, we ensure the global supply of our customers from our hub. At the heart of our processes are highly automated warehouses and picking systems (AKL, HRL, sorter, automatic packaging system) with approx. 270,000 container and approx. 10,000 pallet storage spaces. We process approximately 35,000 picks and ship approximately 15,000 packages to our end customers and Festo national subsidiaries every day.

Your job:

• Redesign and development of future-proof software solutions in the field of warehouse management systems, as well as further development and adaptation of existing solutions
• Responsibility for implementation, testing, commissioning and vulnerability analysis in the warehouse management environment
• Software support for the Festo distribution centre (material flow computer, Oracle DB, dialogues including connected information system)
• Consulting, support and training of the department in software issues
• Active participation in the expansion of lean management methods (CIP/Agile/Scrum)
• Possible involvement in international projects (no regular travel)

• Successfully completed degree in business informatics, computer science or comparable qualification in the IT field (e.g. IT specialist)
• Several years of professional experience in software development
• Experience in commissioning automated logistics systems (warehouse management systems, material flow computers, PLC) desirable
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle SQL/PLSQL, procedural programming (preferably C) and object-oriented programming (preferably C#)
• Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
• Very good written and spoken German and English
• Very good analytical and conceptual skills as well as an independent and responsible way of working
• High level of communication and teamwork skills
