Senior Design Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our New Product Development team. This is a key technical role where you'll help shape innovative, safe, and compliant medical devices used around the world. What you'll be doingAs a Senior Design Engineer, you'll provide hands-on technical expertise across the full product lifecycle. Your day-to-day work will include: Designing and developing medical devices from proven concept through to market releaseEnsuring designs are robust, safe, compliant, and cost-effectiveApplying system-level thinking, risk management, and best engineering practicesCreating and maintaining Design History Files (DHF), including DFMEA, verification, validation, and usability documentationWorking closely with manufacturers to optimise designs for manufacturabilityPlanning and conducting verification and validation testing (including ISIR where required)Capturing engineering data and decisions within the PLM systemCollaborating with cross-functional and international teamsContinuously developing your skills and supporting a culture of quality and improvement

If you love solving problems, collaborating with others, and seeing your designs go all the way from concept to market, we'd love to hear from you., What we're looking forEssentialBSc degree in Product Design, Engineering, or a related science disciplineStrong experience applying engineering principles and problem-solving techniquesExperience compiling Technical Files for medical devicesSolid knowledge of extruded and moulded component designFamiliarity with ISO 13485, MDR and/or FDA regulationsProficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or another 3D CAD packageGood understanding of statistics and engineering mathsBasic project management experienceExcellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skillsA proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detailDesirableExperience with usability engineering filesBasic electronics knowledge and familiarity with IEC 60601MATLAB or FEA experienceBasic programming (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi)Experience using AI tools to boost productivityExperience collaborating with overseas engineering teams Salary & BenefitsUp to £55,00033 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) plus holiday trading schemePensionLife assurancePlus additional benefits
