Job description

  • Provide operational support for enterprise IP networks, including LAN and WAN environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, MPLS).
  • Perform deep-dive fault analysis to resolve complex network incidents and performance issues.
  • Support planned network changes, upgrades, and optimisations in line with change management processes.
  • Monitor network performance and capacity, identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Work closely with other infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to support end-to-end service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.
  • Engage with vendors and service providers as required to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IP networking and TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience operating production networks using BGP and OSPF.
  • Solid routing and switching experience in enterprise or service-provider environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot Layer 2-4 network issues.
  • Experience working in remote teams and supporting live services.

Desirable:

  • Experience with MPLS, SD-WAN, or large-scale WAN environments.
  • Basic network automation or Scripting experience (eg Python, Ansible).
  • IPv6 experience.
