Job description

Expleo is seeking a proactive and experienced Test Kitting Engineer to support a high-profile customer based in Coventry on an initial 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge powertrain testing solutions across Batteries, Electronic Drive Units (EDU), and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) environments., Own and manage the Bill of Materials (BoM) for Units Under Test (UUT), ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to support test schedules. Coordinate procurement and logistics of components, including ordering, tracking, and expediting parts through internal systems and suppliers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate test requirements into actionable kitting plans, ensuring all components, tools, and documentation are ready. Maintain and improve kitting processes, identifying and implementing efficiency improvements aligned with defined procedures. Provide regular updates to the Central Planning Team, including weekly reports on kit readiness, delivery status, and risk mitigation. Support additional tasks as directed by your line manager in connection with the role.Essential Skills & Experience: Technical Expertise

Requirements

Experience managing end-to-end test kitting processes in engineering or automotive testing environments. Strong understanding of powertrain systems (Batteries, EDU, ICE). Proficiency in BoM creation and inventory management systems. Skilled in Microsoft Excel and data handling tools Soft Skills: Independent and proactive work ethic with strong ownership. Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective problem-solving and influencing abilities. Proven track record in supporting engineering programs in test environments. Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience preferred.Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Powertrain in the Loop (PiL) testing or simulation-based environments.
  • Familiarity with automotive testing instrumentation and calibration.
  • Constructive approach to process improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams.
