The primary purpose of the role is to support the delivery of pro-active IT solutions across the Transdev Blazefield business subsidiaries.
This role is central to the smooth day to day operation of IT across the business, working closely with colleagues and our MSP to ensure systems, processes, and support enable a strong colleague experience.
This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of IT systems while supporting and delivering strategic operational projects that support business transformation and growth.
This role and does not involve people management. Instead, it is an operational, coordination focused position, ideal for someone who understands how technology supports the business and enjoys taking ownership, problem solving, and making things work well, while supporting the Head of IT, working with 3rd party suppliers, supporting with the implementing new technology and will also contribute to the future direction of Transdev Blazefield's IT Infrastructure.
What you'll be working on:
Day to Day IT Operations
- Support day to day IT operations across the Group including internal infrastructure and remote workers, telephony systems and service delivery.
- Provide day to day support of the outsourced IT Managed Services provider maintaining a close relationship with IT partners, key site contacts, and suppliers to ensure the effective operation of IT capabilities and services.
- Be a first point of contact for IT operational problems triaging and progressing as appropriate and be responsible for all site support functions as well as supporting the management of major IT incidents.
- Working closely with colleagues to understand operational needs and improve how systems and processes are used.
- Managing IT onboarding and offboarding processes for starters and leavers, including equipment provision such as laptops, mobiles, and peripherals and access.
- Oversee the management of the IT Asset Register.
- Supporting and administering core business systems and platforms, including Microsoft 365 and business applications.
- Supporting the maintenance and organisation of SharePoint sites, content, and structures.
- Assisting with Microsoft licensing administration, including licence assignment and user access.
- Supporting user administration tasks such as profile updates, group membership, and access changes.
- Supporting and maintaining system adoption through clear guidance, documentation, and user support.
Service Delivery & Support
- Regular visits to operating sites to consolidate understanding of IT issues and ensure early IT involvement in operational plans.
- Oversee IT internal support functions to ensure timely and effective resolution of incidents and requests.
- Working with outsourced IT support partners to ensure effective helpdesk delivery and issue resolution.
- Support with vendor relationships, liaising with external suppliers and service providers where required to ensure SLAs are being met.
- Oversee data operations, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications in collaboration with external IT suppliers.
- Monitor service performance and drive improvements in user experience while escalating support issues where required to maintain service quality.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity protocols and risk management practices and information security initiatives across the business.
- Support with IT training including cyber security and using dedicated software.
- Support compliance with but no limited to GDPR practices and our ISO 27001 Certification process.
Project Management
- Support the Head of IT with projects and activities, deputising where appropriate.
- Support the execution of strategic IT operational projects, including infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and enterprise system changes/rollouts.
- Supporting the delivery of business IT projects, including user communications and change support for new platforms.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Windows Server?, * Positive, friendly approach with strong organisational and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to workload, with a practical problem-solving mindset and the ability to deal with changing priorities.
- Willingness to be a team player and work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders.
- Good technical understanding of infrastructure, storage, networking, IT security practices and management, GDPR requirements and desktop support both in person and remotely.
- Experience in an operational, systems, or coordination role.
- Confidence working with business systems or CRM platforms.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Experience working with the Microsoft 365 Suite, SharePoint creating and management.
- Experience of Windows 11 Operating System, O365 Exchange Online, O365 Suite and Azure.
- A commitment to personal development.
Desirable
- A qualification (or working towards) in the IT or Systems Management fields.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to plan for short to medium term objectives.
- Experience coordinating and working with third party suppliers or service providers.
- Experience supporting the roll out/migration of hardware & software.
· Experience of MDM / Intune Configuration, management and deployment.
- Experience of working within a multi-site operation.
- Experience within the Public Transport sector or with industry specific systems desirable but not essential., * Technical support: 1 year (preferred)
