Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Presales Engineer with deep expertise in the data management lifecycle. In this role, you will be the technical lead for customer discussions providing guidance, insight and expertise in both industry practices and Solix Common Data Platform implementations. You are the technical lead to build a relationship and provide credibility. You aren't just "giving a demo"-you are architecting solutions for multi-petabyte environments, addressing complex regulatory compliance requirements, and helping enterprises solve the "dark data" challenge. Be able to translate technical discussions into business value You will partner with the Account Executive team to bridge the gap between complex business problems (storage costs, legal discovery, data sovereignty) and our technical product suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Understanding & Scoping: Lead deep-dive sessions to understand prospect data landscapes, including on-prem file systems, cloud object storage (S3/Azure Blob), and SaaS applications, business requirements

  • Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end archiving workflows that address data tiering, compliance, AI powered data management and long-term retention.

  • Proof of Concept (PoC) Leadership: Manage the full PoC lifecycle-defining success criteria, and proving value against competitors.

  • Compliance & Security Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on how our products help meet global regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, SEC Rule 17a-4, and HIPAA.

  • RFP/Security Questionnaire Ownership: Provide authoritative, technical responses to RFPs, focusing on data encryption, deduplication, and API integrations.

  • Cross-functional Feedback: Act as the "voice of the customer" for the Product Management team to influence the roadmap for future data management features.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Certificate in Payroll Practice, Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals certification?, Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, 7-10 years of experience in a technical presales (Systems Engineer/Solutions Architect) role, specifically within Data Management, Enterprise Archiving, AI or Backup/Recovery.

  • Deep Infrastructure Knowledge: Proficiency in storage protocols (NFS, SMB/CIFS), S3 API, and hybrid-cloud architecture.
  • Content Governance Mastery: Strong understanding of eDiscovery, legal hold, and data classification/tagging workflows.
  • Technical Stack: Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux Servers, multiple relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL databases, and Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Executive Presence: Proven ability to present to C-level executives (CTO/CISO/General Counsel) and translate technical specs into business ROI.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or Certified Information Privacy Professional - CIPP).
  • Experience with "Information Governance" or "Archiving" software platforms.
