Job description
As a Mid-Level Security Architect, you will support the GIS Security Architecture team by executing day-to-day security reviews, approvals, and design tasks that ensure corporate infrastructure and applications remain secure, compliant, and aligned with established reference architectures. Reporting to the Senior Director of Security Architecture, you will handle high-volume ticket queues, participate in architecture and AI committee reviews, and contribute to reference architecture maintenance and special projects.
What You'll Do

Ticket Queue Execution

Perform reviews and approvals for Antivirus Exclusions, Browser Extensions, Email Whitelisting, Firewall Rules, Software Installations, and General Security Guidance.

Complete out-of-band requests and Product Architecture (VDC) alignment/support within SLA targets.

Architecture Review Participation

Attend Architecture Committee and AI Committee meetings; provide security input and document decisions.

Ensure security controls are integrated into all reviewed projects and changes.

Reference Architecture & Standards Support

Maintain and update existing security reference architectures under Senior Director guidance.

Contribute to Technical Standards documentation and special projects (e.g., Polaris).

Risk & Control Application

Apply risk assessment frameworks to ticketed requests and suggest compensating controls.

Support the vulnerability management exception process for assigned items.

Collaboration & Best Practices

Work with CT Security Engineering, Cyber Operations, and business units to apply consistent security best practices.

Escalate complex issues to the Senior Director and assist in policy enforcement.

Continuous Learning

Stay current with security trends, tools, and threats relevant to daily review tasks.

Recommend tactical improvements to streamline approval workflows.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Network security?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, GSEC, CCSP, AWS/Azure security associate) are desirable.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in information security, with emphasis on security reviews, architecture support, or secure design.
- Working knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), risk assessment methods, and compliance requirements.
- Practical experience with network security, firewall rules, endpoint protection, cloud platforms, and identity management.
- Familiarity with security reference models and architecture review processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting reviews and collaborating with technical teams.
- Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive tasks in a structured queue environment.
